David Moyes insisted he ‘absolutely’ has the desire to stay at West Ham and dismissed questions over whether he has the hunger to remain in the game as ‘embarrassing’.
Moyes is out of contract at the end of the season but has maintained that he will not make a decision on his future until the campaign is over.
West Ham have been actively seeking possible replacements for Moyes, with former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui the frontrunner alongside a number of other candidates.
But despite the uncertainty, the Scot was adamant he still has the ambition to remain in football and at West Ham.
‘Absolutely. Football hunger? I’m a bit embarrassed you’ve asked me that question, for you,’ Moyes said.

‘Because I’m a football nut, love my football, go to games, watch games, love it, really do, so yeah I’ve got great hunger for football.’
Asked whether he had the hunger to stay at West Ham, Moyes replied: ‘Absolutely, yes.’
‘I said to everybody and people who work for your company as well that we’ll make a decision at the end of the season.’
Moyes’ comments come after West Ham’s technical director Tim Steidten was told to stay away from the first team dressing room.
Mail Sport reported on Thursday that, following internal talks, it was decided that Steidten will not enter the senior dressing room at the London Stadium or the club’s Rush Green training ground until the end of the season.
Moyes said the decision had been made to ensure his team stay focused on their final three games of the season.

‘We don’t want any distractions,’ Moyes said. ‘We keep our eye on the ball. Tim has got his job to do, I’ve got my job to do. We’ve got three games to play.
‘We want to keep focused on those games we’ve been talking about.’
Asked whether there had been any friction between himself and Steidten, Moyes replied: ‘No, not at all. I’ve said before, Tim has his job to do.
‘Managers have their boundaries and I have my boundaries.’
