Deb Knight axed on 2GB: Replacement is revealed

 Deb Knight will be replaced by Michael McLaren on 2GB Afternoons from January 15 next year after Knight spent four years in the role.

It comes following a notable decline in ratings, with Knight holding a  mere six percent market share, as indicated by the latest radio ratings survey. This marks a decrease from its peak of 8.9 percent earlier in 2023. 

McLaren said he was excited to start the role

'I will bring my interests and apparent dry sense of humour with me in the kit bag,' he said.

'It'll be traditional afternoon radio. We'll keep abreast of the news as it unfolds but also afford people a chance to laugh, learn and reminisce. The audience and open line will drive the agenda.'
