A popular brewery has collapsed after its owners struggled to find a buyer.

Victorian-based Deeds Brewing announced on Tuesday night it had made the 'difficult decision' to close its doors.

'Over the last 12 years, we've poured our hearts into every brew, every interaction, and every moment shared with you,' the Deeds team wrote on Instagram.

'Our hearts are broken.

'We'll deeply miss our dedicated staff, who have become like family to us, and our incredible fans who've stood by us through thick and thin throughout the years.'

All 50 staff members will be left without jobs as a result of the collapse.

The beer debuted as Quiet Deeds in 2012 amid Australia's explosion in craft brewing, founded by university mates Patrick Alé and David Milstein.

It's brewery operations have expanded in the past decade to include an on-site taproom and kitchen.

It has won a number of awards for its beer varieties.

The brewery will remain open over the next few days, and says it will honour online orders and offer a 30 per cent discount as its clears house.

'This will be your last chance to stock up on our beers and raise a final glass to Deeds Brewing,' the post reads.

'We want to thank you for all the love and support you have shown us.'

The post also touched on the horror year for Australian craft breweries after a number of hikes to alcohol taxes and operational costs have driven some into closure.

'In these tough times for businesses and individuals alike, we extend our best wishes to everyone in the industry,' the post reads.

'Now more than ever, it’s crucial to support local businesses.'

Since the start of the year, small and medium breweries including Big Shed, Hawkers and Golden West have all entered administration.

They followed other outfits such as Ballistic, Parched, Wicked Elf and Running With Thieves who collapsed during 2023.
