Angel Reese has gone from one of the best college players in the country to a WNBA All-Star in less than five months, and two of her biggest supporters will not be in Phoenix to mark another of the milestones for the Chicago Sky star.

Reese posted to social media on Friday saying her mother and brother can't make it to her first WNBA All-Star Game.

The news that two of Reese's family members cannot make it to the home of the Mercury comes as flights are grounded worldwide as part of a Microsoft outage.

Reese did not explicitly blame the outage, but the timing suggests it had something to do with it, as she hails from the Baltimore area.

Angel Reese's mother's first name is also Angel, and her younger brother, Julian, was also a basketball star at Maryland

Angel Reese and her mother, Angel, were spotted on the red carpet for the ESPYs last year

Before the younger Angel Reese was a basketball star for LSU, she played for two seasons at her home state's school, Maryland.

The Reese women were seen together on the ESPYs red carpet last year both wearing extravagant gold dresses.

Both of Angel Reese's parents were college basketball players as well.

Reese will represent the WNBA All-Star team at the mega-exhibition contest against Team USA, the dozen women representing the United States at the Olympics later this month.

Every woman on Team USA plays in the WNBA, with the WNBA All-Stars representing many of the most talented players in the league not getting a chance to play in Paris.

By playing for the WNBA All-Stars, Reese will be teammates with long-standing rival Caitlin Clark for the first time on a major stage after dueling with her in college and professionally.

Reese will likely draw the defensive assignments on veterans Brittney Griner and A'ja Wilson during the All-Star Game in a stiff test for the star rookie.
