Disturbing mystery as Colorado woman, 24, is found dead in middle of deserted road after July 4 celebrations - but she wasn't shot or run over

A 24-year-old Colorado woman has been found dead in the middle of a road in mysterious circumstances.

Tatiana Llanos had been enjoying July 4th celebrations with her family just hours before her death.

She was discovered lying in the middle of the road in Fountain during a police officer's routine patrol.

Detectives have stated that Llanos, of Colorado Springs, had not been shot or run over and a cause of death has yet to be released.

'Just put yourselves in our perspective, after enjoying a great day with your family, you get told that your daughter was found like a bag of trash in the middle of the road. Would you want that? And if it was an accident, say something,' Llanos' father Jose Llanos told FOX8 Live. 

Llanos was last seen heading out to meet friends to celebrate the holiday.

'She was going to spend time with this one person, then she was going to head out and see another friend, and that's where things got murky. Extremely, extremely murky,' her father told the Gazette.

He added that she planned to return to the family barbecue but never made it back. 

Instead she was found on Fountain Mesa Road at around 10.30pm. Emergency responders tried to save her, but were unsuccessful.

Her family rejected any notion that her death could have been self inflicted. 

'There is just no way possible that she would've done something to herself,' her father added. 

'There's a high possibility that someone did this to her. I don't know if this was intentional. 

'Maybe they got scared, maybe there was an altercation, maybe something went too far.'

Her family has since set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs where her parents paid tribute to their, 'princess daughter'.

 'Tati had an amazing heart, a joyful spirit, and was a passionate person in everything she did,' the fundraiser states.

'She brought joy to every heart she touched and she will be missed so much by everyone.'

An outdoor memorial service at Palmer Park Council Grounds in Colorado Springs was scheduled for today.
