Kai Trump made her debut campaign trail speech on the massive national stage of the Republican Convention on Wednesday where she hinted at a future in politics.

Donald Trump Jr. gave up his microphone time to allow his 17-year-old daughter to take over for a few minutes, claiming she called Monday to ask him to speak after the assassination attempt on her grandfather's life.

Former President Donald Trump's eldest grandchild made her first foray into the campaign trail with her remarks in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by 'sharing a side of my grandpa that people don't often see.'

Her first major political appearance came just four days after the assassination attempt on the former president's life and sought to share the human side of a president who gives candy and soda to his grandchildren.

'On Saturday, I was shocked when I heard that 'he has been shot,' and I just wanted to know if he was OK. It was heartbreaking that someone would do that to another person,' Kai said.

'A lot of people have put my grandpa through hell, and he's still standing,' she told thousands of GOP delegates and party members. 'Grandpa, you are such an inspiration.'

Donald Trump's granddaughter Kai, 17, took stage at the Republican Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Wednesday for her first public remarks for her grandfather

Trump gleamed as she continued her remarks with her father standing by on stage.

At one point, he looked toward North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum seated beside him and seemed to say of his granddaughter: 'She's good!'

'He always encourages me to be the most successful person I can be,' Kai said of the former president.

'Obviously he sets the bar pretty high,' she continued to laughs. 'But who knows, maybe one day I'll catch him.'

Kai walked the stage earlier in the day on Wednesday for a rundown of how the night would unfold. She was joined by event producers and her parents Don Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa.

Speaking at Fiserv Forum, the teen golfer said: 'The media makes my grandpa seem like a different person, but I know him for who he is. He's very caring and loving.'

'He truly wants the best for this country and he will fight every single day to make America great again,' she concluded.

She took the stage after her father's grand introduction: 'Before I begin my remarks, I'm going to do something a little uncharacteristic – a Trump is going to give up the microphone,' Don Jr. said. 'Doesn't happen often, you may never see it again.'

'But I got a call Monday morning from a young lady who said: 'Dad, I want to speak at the RNC because I want America to know what my grandpa is actually like,' he recalled. 'So for the first time ever on the stage, first time ever giving a speech I want to bring out my eldest daughter and the eldest granddaughter of the United States, your favorite president, Kai Madison Trump.'

The eldest Trump son then finished his remarks after his daughter spoke before newly-anointed Trump running mate Sen. J.D. Vance and his wife Usha finished out the Republican Convention programming on Wednesday.

'I am honored to be speaking at the RNC at 9 pm (CDT),' she posted on social media the morning before her big speech.

Don Jr. introduced his eldest daughter to the stage, saying: 'Before I begin my remarks, I'm going to do something a little uncharacteristic – a Trump is going to give up the microphone. Doesn't happen often, you may never see it again.'

Kai says Trump is like a 'normal grandpa' who gives his grandchildren soda and candy when their parents are looking and calls them in the middle of the school day to talk about golf

Kai is the oldest of Trump's 10 grandchildren and made some appearances in the spotlight during his first term in the White House.

The teenager attended the inauguration in 2017 and the White House Easter Egg roll. Earlier this month, she attended a Trump rally at her grandfather's club in Doral, Florida alongside some of her siblings and father.

She won't be able to vote in November since she won't become an adult until May 2025.

Kai is also a golfer and has a YouTube page dedicated to her time on the links.

She is only 17 but has already been tipped to become the most accomplished golfer of the Trump dynasty.

Kai has won the ladies club championship at her grandfather's golf course in Palm Beach, Florida, and has played with some of the biggest stars in the game.

The teen daughter of Donald Jr and his ex-wife Vanessa claims on her Instagram page to be part of Callaway Next, 'the next generation of Callaway Tour Pros.'

Her longest drive is said to be 275 yards. Only 14 players on the LPGA averaged longer in 2023.

She has played with big-hitting Bryson DeChambeau, Swedish professional Daniela Holmqvist, two-time world long drive champion Kyle Berkshire and other promising youngsters.

She has also shared the course with her 'grandpa'.

They formed part of a Pro-Am team ahead of the controversial LIV Golf tournament at Trump's Doral course in Florida.

Kai played alongside uncle Eric Trump, Sergio Garcia, US PGA Champion Brooks Koepka and supporting cast of secret service agents.
