Karl-Anthony Towns was mocked by the Inside the NBA crew after the Timberwolves star shot 0 for 8 during Minnesota's third consecutive loss to the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals.
While speaking to reporters Sunday night, Towns claimed he's been 'putting up to 1,500 shots a day' in practise.
'[I] shot so well all playoffs, confidence extremely high, and to be having these unfortunate balances and these [shots] that are just not going in, it's tough,' he went on.
'Confidence-wise, I just gotta keep shooting.'
Golden State Warriors forward, Draymond Green, who joined TNT's NBA Playoffs coverage this season, was the first to suggest the 28-year-old was lying.
The Inside the NBA crew claimed Karl-Anthony Towns lied about taking 1,500 practise shots
. 'To be having these unfortunate balances ... it's tough,' he admitted while talking to reporters
'You know what cap is?' Green asked his co-hosts, referencing the slang term for lying. 'KAT capping,' he added.
Hall of Famer Charles Barkley also branded Towns a liar, appearing shocked that any player was capable of putting up 1,500 shots in a single day.
Meanwhile, Kenny Smith offered his take from the perspective of a former point guard.
'I never took shots, I did makes,' he explained.
'So, to make 300 in a day takes about 30-40, about 45 minutes. So if you're taking 1500, it's gonna be taking you over two and a half hours, and you're already practicing at shootaround, so it's cap.'
