Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has named the six clubs that rejected him as a youngster before he made his breakthrough at QPR.
The 25-year-old has been tipped for a move away from Selhurst Park this summer after establishing himself as one of the most exciting players in the Premier League.
Eze's club form has earned him two caps for England and most recently he dealt a massive blow to Liverpool's title aspirations with the only goal in the Eagles' victory at Anfield.
The attacking midfielder has a multitude of options before him but, as he claimed in a touching interview, this was not always the case.
Eze revealed that Arsenal, Fulham, Reading and Millwall released him as a youngster, while Sunderland and Bristol City turned down the chance to sign him altogether.
Eberechi Eze scored the only goal in Crystal Palace's shock 1-0 win over Liverpool last weekend
The 25-year-old calmly slotted his shot past Alisson in the 14th minute to dent the hosts Premier League title hopes
Eze explained how he spent five years with Gunners after being scouted from his Sunday League outfit. Unfortunately, things did not work out as he hoped.
'At a young age, it was hard, especially being released.' He told Premier in 2020. 'Me and my mum cried, everyone was so upset – that’s all you know at that age.
'But looking back at it now, that’s the start of my journey and I’m grateful to God that’s how it went. If it wasn’t for that, I may not have got the resilience, bravery, to go and be who I want to be elsewhere. It’s shaped me to be who I am today.'
Eze was then picked up by the Cottagers and Reading before spending time with Millwall after being released by Arsenal.
After years of rejection, Eze finally got his break and QPR, where he scored 14 times and assisted eight in his final seaon with the club
He eventually made a move to QPR where he made his name and secured a £19.5million move to the Premier League.
Eze has scored 22 goals and recorded 15 assists in 119 appearances for the south London side.
He was linked to a move to Manchester City last summer and is also reported to be on the radar of Tottenham.
