An Oregon knife shop suffered devastating damage after an elderly driver crashed his car into the storefront.
According to Edge-N-Knife owner Ted Ruiz, the unidentified driver got confused between his gas pedal and brakes and accidentally accelerated into the store.
Images show the front windows completely shattered, door frames bent, glass cases destroyed and displays shifted nearly a foot and a half toward the back of the store.
The store was not open at the time of the crash and he was not in the area at the time of the accident, according to Ruiz.
He told KEZI: 'The people at Jalisco’s called me up. You need to come quick, there’s a car in your store. The police, the fire department, and the ambulances are all here,’ so I just came rushing down.
'It took two thirds of the front of the store out – the door and everything.

The former butcher, chef and meat cutter thinks of the incident as an accident and has not condemned the driver.
'It was just probably a little confusion. One thing I can say is the gentleman’s fine, and as far as anything else goes, that’s the important thing. The rest is material. It’ll get fixed.
'It’s material; that’s all it is; time and material, and he didn’t get hurt so that was good. It was a good day either way. We’re all okay,' he told the channel.

'It’s just obstacles,' Ruiz said. 'Obstacles that you hurdle over and go on to the next day.
'If one weekend takes me out, then I shouldn’t have been in business anyway.'
While a police report has been filed, Ruiz is not pressing any charges.
