A high-profile Slovakian football pundit believes England are a very beatable opponent in their current form.

Slovakia and the Three Lions will meet in the last-16 of Euro 2024 on Sunday afternoon and England remain strong favourites despite their lacklustre performances in the group stage.

Gareth Southgate's men won just just one of their three games, scoring just two goals in the process.

The pressure on Southgate is growing with the pre-tournament favourites showing nothing like what was expected of them.

'I would very much like England,' said Slovakian expert Ladislav Borbely shortly after Slovakia's progress to the knockout stages and his wish was granted after Georgia's shock win over Portugal.

Jude Bellingham and his England team-mates were far from impressive in the group stage

'I saw the English matches and so far I haven't been able to identify what they want to play from those three matches,' Borbely continued.

'England is an ultra-strong opponent, but they are not in good shape.

'England have a squad full of stars, but as a whole they cannot fulfill the team's potential.

'The opponent has great individual qualities, but they do not create the team synergy that they would imagine. I dare to say that in the current form this opponent would be playable.'

Borbely says Southgate's team lack an identity and is confident about Slovakia's chances

Slovakia claimed four points from their three group games and qualified as one of the best third-placed finishers.

The began their tournament with a shock 1-0 win over Belgium before losing 2-1 to Ukraine and drawing 1-1 with Romania.
