England fans have revealed whether they believe Gareth Southgate should remain as manager after Euro 2024 in a Sky Bet YouGov survey.

Despite receiving heavy criticism following England's concerning start to the tournament in Germany, Southgate has guided the Three Lions to the final, where they will face Spain on Sunday.

That follows on from England also reaching the final of 2020 (where they lost to Italy on penalties) and the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup under Southgate's guidance.

The FA are eager for Southgate to remain as manager regardless of the outcome on the final.

Southgate, who initially took charge on an interim basis in 2016, sees his current contract expire at the end of December.

England fans have delivered their verdict on whether Gareth Southgate should stay in charge

In a Sky Bet Fan View survey conducted by YouGov that involved 400 Premier League fans, 64 per cent of fans stated that they wanted Southgate to remain as manager after the tournament, with 36 per cent wanting him to depart.

There was more of a divide when fans were asked whether Southgate should receive a knighthood if England win Euro 2024, with 52 per cent in favour and 48 per cent against.

Attention then turned to the pressing topic of who should lead the line for England in Sunday's pivotal clash.

Harry Kane has started all of England's matches at the tournament so far and has found the net on three occasion but many of his overall performances have been far from convincing.

Ollie Watkins catapulted himself into the spotlight with his late winner as a substitute against the Netherlands in the semi-final, while Ivan Toney has also made a significant impact off the bench.

However, the majority of England fans believe that Southgate should persist with Kane against Spain, with 45 per cent believing he should start.

It was a close call, though, as 42 per cent would like to see Watkins involved from the outset. Meanwhile, 13 per cent of fans want Toney to start.

Regarding the outcome of Sunday's crunch clash, most England fans are pessimistic, with only 33 per cent believing that they will win and 67 per cent being of the opinion that Spain will triumph.

There has also been a debate about whether there should be a bank holiday if England win Euro 2024. However, just 30 per cent of fans believe that should be the case, with 70 per cent feeling that there shouldn't be a bank holiday.

England finished top of Group C after taking five points from their three games. They subsequently beat Slovakia 2-1 after extra-time in the round of 16, with Jude Bellingham scoring a late equaliser with an overhead kick in normal time before Kane got the winner in extra-time.

Southgate's side overcame Switzerland on penalties in the quarter-finals and then beat the Netherlands 2-1 in the semi-finals as Watkins scored a late winner.
