England fans have serenaded a Gareth Southgate lookalike in Germany ahead of their side's Euro 2024 semi-final.

The Three Lions will take on the Netherlands this evening for a spot in the last four of the competition, and fans have been taking in the scenery as they prepare for the match in Dortmund.

Pre-match preparations included singing at a German police officer on the streets before the game, who, perhaps unfortunately for him, looked like England boss Gareth Southgate.

England fans surrounded the officer, who could be seen in uniform and holding a white helmet while he cast a watchful eye over the supporters.

Groups of supporters then performed a rendition of Atomic Kitten's 'Whole Again', which rose to fame during England's run to the semi-final of the World Cup in 2018.

The rendition of the Atomic Kitten song has regularly been sung Southgate's way during his England reign

The officer seemed to enjoy the joke, appearing to be eager to resist cracking a smile as the fans around him sang.

Another officer, meanwhile, could be seen filming the action in the background, laughing along with the fans.

Fans sang the song regularly during the early years of Southgate's reign as he took England to a semi-final of a World Cup and a final of a European Championship.

He is bidding to do the same again in Germany, with Spain awaiting the winners in Sunday's final.

England fans have largely been outnumbered in Dortmund, with Netherlands fans buying 25 times more tickets than English fans on resale sites.
