Harry Maguire has missed out as well, but Carsley still thinks he has an international future, and claims he has a 'really important part to play' moving forward.

Carsley: 'I wanted to look at other players'

Eberechi Eze is not in the squad this time around, but Carsley insists it is not a case of the Crystal Palace man being dropped, but more that he wants to see some new faces in his squad to see what they can do.

Carsley: 'I could have named a 40-man squad!'

Carsley is asked whether he considered calling up Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers after his strong start to the season.

Carsley says there is so much talent to pick from right now that he could have picked 40 players, but Rogers just missed out on this occasion.

Carsley: 'My situation hasn't changed'

Carsley insists he has not held talks with the FA about taking the England job permanently.

Saka survives McGregor sparring!

Bukayo Saka starred for Arsenal in their 2-0 win over PSG on Tuesday night, but probably didn't expect to then come face-to-face with Conor McGregor on the Emirates pitch.

McGregor seemed to be enjoying the moment as he aimed a couple of playful MMA kicks at Saka, who may not have been quite so comfortable!

Anyway, he's still going strong, and will take his place in England's squad today.

Harry Maguire to miss out?

Carsley has not shied away from making bold calls, and he is expected to leave Harry Maguire out of his squad today.
