Sam Draper has admitted to suffering 'post pod anxiety' after he made controversial remarks on his 200 Plus Podcast.

The Essendon ruckman co-hosts a podcast with North Melbourne's Charlie Comben and journalist Nick Butler, and last week gave his opinion on rival club the Western Bulldogs.

'I've got a big call about the Doggies... if Bevo (coach Luke Beveridge) is still there there'll be some players requesting trades,' he said.

He didn't go so far as to name the players he believes are contemplating an exit, but opined that superstar Bailey Smith will definitely leave the club.

'He's gone, everyone knows that,' he said of Smith, who is out of contract at the end of the year.

Unsurprisingly, Draper's honest comments copped backlash from the footy world, with Cameron Mooney telling SEN that the Bombers will be livid with their star man's remarks.

'Drapes you just put your foot in it there: you don't comment on other clubs, buddy,' Mooney said.

'I love it and I love Sammy Draper, he is shoot from the hip.

'Great for us, great fodder.

'Keep it coming Sammy we love it.'

Draper said that he felt some 'post pod anxiety' in the fallout of his Bulldogs remarks and Seven reports that he has apologised to the rival club since the comments.

He also opened up on how he received sickening online abuse for his role in the controversial finish to Essendon's win over Adealide, in which he lay on the ball but was not penalised for holding.
