Even a Mystery Shopping coach can't believe how expensive groceries are

A mystery shopping expert revealed her disbelief at how expensive groceries have become after a recent trip to the supermarket. 

Nadia coaches people on how to make money through mystery shopping - a method used by marketing research companies and organizations who want to assess their sales, service and job performance compared to competitors. 

The coach, who goes by @mysteryshoppingacademy on TikTok, uploaded a video captioned, 'Anyone else giving up eating healthy because of grocery prices?'

In the video, she complained that she had just spent $6 on a bag of grapes. 'This is crazy,' she said. 'Anyone else here feel like they're going broke trying to eat healthy?'

Growing prices in grocery stores and beyond have continued to shock American consumers over the past few years - with food costs rising a steep 2.2 percent in just 12 months, from April 2023 to April 2024.
