Everton have confirmed that they have lodged its appeal against the 10-point deduction the club was handed by the Premier League

The Toffees shared that they had made their appeal with the Chair of the Premier League's Judicial Panel on Friday, which will now lead to the appointment of an Appeal Board to hear the case.

Sean Dyche's side were handed the jaw-dropping penalty after being found guilty by the English top flight's governing body of breaching profit and sustainability rules.

Last week, Mail Sport reported that the club had until close of play on Friday to lodge the appeal, which they duly did before the deadline passed.

The Premier League has previously stated that it will be heard before the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

Everton run the risk of suffering another points deduction if they are found to have breached spending rules in their next set of accounts, which are set to be submitted by December 31.

The accounts will cover the 2022/23 season, and under new regulations brought in by the Premier League last season, reports suggest that financial breaches will be fast-tracked and dealt with before before the season's close.
