Everton's 13-game winless run is 'a DISGRACE' and 'a lot of those players can't be trusted', Dominic King tells It's All Kicking Off, ahead of the Toffees' huge relegation clash against Burnley

Mail Sport's Dominic King admitted Everton's record run without a win was 'staggering', and suggested that a number of the playing squad were untrustworthy within the dressing-room.

Everton are on a club record run of 13 games without a win, their most recent a well-earned late 1-1 draw against Newcastle at St James' Park, and are now set to take on relegation rivals Burnley.

The Toffees have endured a whirlwind season that saw them impress early on in the season before being handed an initial 10-point deduction for breaching Premier League profit and sustainability rules

This was then reduced to six points, however the club's form has dropped off and they are now at genuine risk of falling into the Championship, with points drying up under Sean Dyche.

Mail Sport's King appeared on It's All Kicking Off to discuss the club, claiming that there was far too much quality at Goodison Park for the team to go on such a run, while also suggesting that some of the players 'can't be trusted at times'.

Everton have been on a run of 13 games without a win stretching back to before Christmas

Dominic King told Mail Sport that some of the players in the dressing-room 'can't be trusted'

'Everton I’m bewildered by the situation that they're in, how that team has broken a record for a club not winning in the Premier League for 13 matches is staggering,' he claimed.

Regular host Chris Sutton had suggested that much of the malaise in performances falls on the shoulders of the manager, to which King added: 'I know you said this falls on Sean Dyche ultimately, and it probably does.

'I've just seen signs in the last couple of months and I've heard things that just suggests to me that there's a pattern developing, the same that happened under Frank [Lampard], Rafa [Benitez], Sam Allardyce and Ronald Koeman, even to Carlo Ancelotti.

'Those players can't be trusted at times. There's a lot of those players can't be trusted. They've looked for excuses. They've looked to apportion blame elsewhere when things have started to go wrong.

'It's always the manager's fault, it was Frank's fault for this, it was Rafa's fault for that. And again, I've heard whispers around the place about them not being happy with things and whatever. When are they actually going to be happy with someone?

'There's more than enough talent in that room, in that dressing room, not to have gone 13 matches without winning. I think that run's an absolute disgrace to the fans that travel across the country. An absolute joke.'

Everton's nose-dive in form has drawn them into the thick of the relegation battle, however Sutton has still backed them stay up come the end of the season.

The Toffees are coming off the back of a hard-earned point, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin ending his own wait of more than five months for a goal in the league, converting the decisive penalty to make it 1-1.

Now, though, they come across a Burnley side that many have tipped to go straight back down to the Championship having won just four games all season.

But manager Vincent Kompany has remained positive during the campaign, and his side have been on something of a stronger run of late, with three draws and a win in four games, and will fancy their chances against a beleaguered Everton team.

King claimed that the ongoing wait for win is a 'disgrace' for the fans travelling the country

'The main thing from Everton's point of view is staying in the Premier League, and of course it's going to be a big test against Burnley,' said Sutton.

'All season Vincent Kompany has been saying "I still believe,  I still have belief in this team" but after some of the runs they’ve been on that can’t be possible. But they have shown there is something there in the last four games.

'I never gave them a chance of staying up after their early season form. Some of the football was fantasy football. You look at them now, the last four results will give them a glimmer of hope and belief.

'They have to win all their games to stay up, which is a tall order, but if they win at Everton, they’ll give themselves a real sniff.'
