The former Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has revealed a number of shower and toilet problems faced by the Chilean national team.

Chile's lacklustre football has not been the only cause for complaint by the South American stars.

Despite facing challenges during his tenure with Manchester United, Sanchez is now contending with subpar facilities on the international stage as Chile struggles in their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Following a disappointing 0-0 draw against Paraguay, the 34-year-old expressed concern beyond the team's performance when he discussed the shower problems in the changing rooms.

Speaking about the Juan Pinto Duran Sports Complex and Colo-Colo Stadium, Sanchez revealed issues such as malfunctioning showers and unsanitary conditions.

Chile's lacklustre football has not been the only cause for complaint for the South American side, as they face problems in the changing room and poor hygiene conditions

Sanchez has revealed the shocking shower problems for the Chilean national team

'In Juan Pinto Duran there are three showers and they don't work,' Sanchez said.

'You have to wait for the other person to shower. At the Colo-Colo stadium I was sitting stretching and excrement from ourselves in the shower came out of the drain.'

Sanchez shot to fame with a run of impressive performances at Barcelona from 2011-2014, which caught the Gunners' eye when they signed the Chilean striker for £31.7million.

He spent four years at the North London club before moving to Premier League rivals Man United - in which his success was short-lived, as he made few appearances in his two-year stint at the Theatre of Dreams.

Since leaving United, Sanchez moved to Champions League finalists Inter Milan - the side he currently represents.

He is widely regarded as Chile's greatest ever footballer, having made over 140 appearances for his country.

Alexis Sanchez had a successful spell at Barcelona before his move to Arsenal, though his skill did not materialise at Old Trafford, leaving in 2020 to join Serie A side Inter Milan
