Fans are only just realising that the teenager who went viral for walking home from Lille training was Leny Yoro.
Yoro joined Manchester United last week in a £52million move, becoming the Red Devils' second signing of the summer following the £36.5m arrival of Joshua Zirkee from Bologna.
His arrival has brought a lot of anticipation among United fans, who are keen to see their side improve on their worst-ever Premier League finish last season under Erik ten Hag.
Ten Hag has been trusted to stay on as manager and lead the side into the Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS era, and the United chiefs have already been busy in the market.
Now, an old clip of Yoro has surfaced, and fans are only now putting two and two together regarding the video.
Fans are just realising that the player snapped walking home from Lille training was Leny Yoro
Two years later and now 18, the defender has secured a £52million move to Manchester United
Yoro made his United debut at the weekend in a 2-0 pre-season win over Scottish side Rangers
The clip, which went viral two years ago, shows a man walking down the road as he's followed and mocked for walking by the driver of a car.
At the end of the video, the person in the car can be heard chanting: 'Leny Yoro,' as the man walking laughs along.
Yoro is seen being mocked by his team-mate for not having a driving licence, with the Frenchman being 16 at the time.
One fan took to X, formerly Twitter, to share the video, captioning it: 'Wait, this vid was LENY Yoro?!' accompanied by two crying faces.
Another wrote: ' Bro had no idea he was going to play for the biggest club then'.
A third added: 'My CB! Walking to and from the stadium shows exactly where hard work gets you!'
Yoro has already made his debut for United, playing against Rangers in a pre-season friendly over the weekend.
United won the game 2-0 with goals from Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill, with Yoro starting the game alongside Jonny Evans in defence.
Fans have been left shocked that the video was Yoro long before United's interest in his signature
Yoro also detailed how Rio Ferdinand convinced him to join United following their interest
Yoro, meanwhile, has explained how Rio Ferdinand played a role in his move to Old Trafford.
'It was like two weeks ago,' he said. 'He called me, so first of all I was really impressed to speak with him and yeah, we spoke like 10 minutes about Man United, so he helped me a lot to make my choice. So yeah, it was really an honour to speak with him.
'Yeah, he spoke to me about the club, and [that] this is a historic club with a big story, and if I go there I need to fight for the club, to be ready, because this is the biggest club in the world. So, yeah, for me it was really good to speak about this.
'When I was younger, Rio was one of the best defenders in the world. I think everyone watched United when he was young and, for me, it was a dream to play for this club,' he added.
