Harry Kane was booked for elbowing Gabriel in the face while tussling for a header - but some fans believe the England captain should have been sent off for the offence.
The incident happened in the 55th minute of Bayern Munich's Champions League quarter-final first-leg at Arsenal, with Kane shown the yellow card for his actions.
But video replays, particularly in slow motion, suggest that the elbow was more malicious than initially thought, and could have led to the Englishman's dismissal in North London.
Fans on X (formerly Twitter) were also vocal with their questioning of the referee's decision, with one writing: 'Harry Kane looks where he's about to plant his elbow. How is that not a red?'
'That’s a red card for Kane. Elbow on the throat' wrote a second, while another added: 'If you’re saying the elbow from Kane is deliberate enough for a yellow, surely it has to be red?!'
