Fans have heaped praise on Crewe goalkeeper Max Stryjek's 's***housery' ahead of their penalty shootout against Doncaster Rovers in the League Two play-off semi-final on Friday.

Lee Bell's side entered the second leg facing a two-goal deficit after Doncaster seized the initiative at Gresty Road on Monday.

But The Railwaymen fought back impressively away from home, taking a two-goal lead to send the fixture into extra-time.

Another 30 minutes of action could not separate the two sides at the Keepmoat Stadium, with the tie, and a place in the final at Wembley later this month, ultimately to be decided by spot kicks.

With the shootout set to get underway, Stryjek raced behind the goal to pick up a water bottle belonging to his opposite number Thimothee Lo-Tutala, said to be containing notes on Crewe's penalty takers.

The Railwaymen will now travel to Wembley next weekend looking to secure promotion

The Polish goalkeeper then proceeded to launch the bottle deep into the stands just as the shootout was to begin.

Crewe would ultimately prevail 4-3, with Stryjek saving two penalties to leave Crewe just one game away from promotion to League One.

Writing on social media, one fan called Stryjek throwing the bottle as, 'peak s***housery.'

Another wrote: 'Can take the man out of Wycombe But not the Wycombe out the man'

A further fan noted that the penalty information had actually been recovered by a photographer at the ground, but Crewe prevailed regardless with Stryjek the man of the hour.

At Wembley next Sunday Crewe will face the winner of the clash between MK Dons and Crawley this evening. Crawley to Stadium MK with a comfortable 3-0 advantage as they look to secure a return to the third tier after spending 10 consecutive seasons in League Two.
