Fan have admitted they are 'shocked' after Cristiano Ronaldo assisted Bruno Fernandes during Portugal's clash with Turkey.

Roberto Martinez's men booked their place in the last-16 of Euro 2024 by winning their group following an emphatic 3-0 win against Turkey.

Goals from Bernardo Silva and an own-goal by Samet Akaydin saw Portugal cruise into a 2-0 lead in the opening 28 minutes at the Westfalenstadion.

Ronaldo then went clean through on goal after 55 minutes and had the opportunity to score his first goal in this year's tournament.

Many would have expected him to take a shot but he instead laid the ball off to Bruno Fernandes, who guided it home.

Portugal took the lead against Turkey thanks to Silva's first ever goal in a major international tournament after 21 minutes.

Martinez's men doubled their lead in bizarre circumstances when Turkish defender Samet Akaydin found the back of his own net seven minutes later before Fernandes wrapped up the win 10 minutes after the break.

Ronaldo remains goalless in his sixth European Championship - a record he currently holds.

Portugal will return to action on Wednesday when they take on georgia in their final group match.
