Dr. Anthony Fauci has been accused by a top Republican of making 'false' claims during his bombshell testimony in Congress and is facing calls to make another appearance.
House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, sent a letter to Dr. Fauci Friday requesting he sit for a transcribed interview, in part, because the former COVID-19 Response Team leader's claim he 'kept an open mind' about the lab-leak theory.
Jordan alleges that Fauci's remarks are absolutely 'false,' according to the letter obtained by DailyMail.com.
Fauci's claimed Monday he had 'kept an open mind' about the lab leak theory and did not play a part in the 'push to downplay the lab leak theory.'
But Jordan charges that 'is false on its face' because of the 'pressure' Fauci and the Biden administration put on social media firms to choke out lab-leak posts, leading to their censoring online communication on COVID.
Virologists work at the lab of Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in Wuhan in central China's Hubei province. Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, wrote to Dr. Anthony Fauci Friday saying he gave a 'false' account of his having 'an open mind' about the COVID lab-leak theory, citing instances where the pandemic patriarch appeared to throw cold water on the idea
Fauci's account is 'contradicted by Facebook's decision to remove content about the lab leak theory because of 'pressure' from the Biden Administration, particularly the Response Team, of which you were a member,' Jordan wrote.
'To better understand how and to what extent the Executive Branch has coerced or colluded with companies and other intermediaries to censor Americans' speech, we respectfully request that you appear for a transcribed interview before the Committee.'
Jordan further wrote that Fauci 'sidelined' former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield in a bid to silence his view that COVID 'came from a Wuhan lab.'
Jordan also demanded a trove of documents from the pandemic patriarch, saying that his recent testimony warrants further investigation into his handling of COVID.
Oversight Chair James Comer, R-Ky., has agreed that Fauci should be investigated, admitting how he likes 'the idea' of the pandemic patriarch facing criminal charges.
Fauci's top aide when he was director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Dr. David Morens, testified before the House Coronavirus Pandemic Committee he used his personal email to skirt transparency laws.
Morens claimed to have a 'secret back channel' to Fauci and suggested to colleagues how to deliver the scientist information in ways to avoid Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

Jordan grilled Fauci when he testified before Congress on Monday
'Reporting from the Coronavirus Select Subcommittee alleges that you may have taken 'part in a conspiracy amongst the highest levels of [NIAID]' to 'destroy' or 'hide' 'official records regarding the origins of COVID-19,' including by conducting official business on your personal email and deleting official records in an attempt avoid the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and public,' Jordan alleged.
The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic requested access to Fauci's personal email and phone records as well.
Morens did testify under oath before the body on May 22.
He defended his actions saying he didn't know using his personal email for work and then deleting the messages infringed any laws, but received scorn from Democrats and the GOP for his destruction of public records.
He was also roundly criticized for editing press releases for his 'best friend' EcoHealth Alliance President Dr. Peter Daszak - who former National Institute of Health (NIH) Director Dr. Lawrence Tabak testified was conducting gain-of-function research in Wuhan at the time of the pandemic's outbreak.

Morens worked to help his 'best friend' Daszak, even asking him for a 'kickback' after the EcoHealth president got a massive taxpayer-funded grant from NIAID - where Morens works.
Jordan requested the documents and interview by June 21.
