Fenerbahce forfeited their Turkish Super Cup clash against Galatasaray in bizarre scenes.

Galatasaray were declared winners, with Fenerbahce fielding an Under-19 team and walking off the pitch just two minutes into the game.

Mauro Icardi has given Galatasaray the lead in the first minute.

Given that they are playing Olympiacos away on Thursday in the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League, Fenerbahce had asked for the Turkish Cup final to be postponed, but their request was rejected by the Turkish Football Federation.

Fenerbahce threatened to withdraw from the Turkish league as a result of treatment from referees, but club members voted against their withdrawal.

Following Fenerbahce's win against Trabzonspor last month shocking scenes unfolded, with their players attacked by opposition supporters who had run onto the pitch.

Former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi attempted to fight back against one fan with a karate kick.

Meanwhile, former QPR player Bright Osayi-Samuel punched another attacker.

During the game against Galatasaray, all of the Fenerbahce players walked off the pitch following Icardi's goal.

The Galatasaray players applauded their opponents. Following that, the Galatasaray starting lineup played a match against their own substitutes and reserves.

The Turkish Super Cup had been due to take place in Saudi Arabia in December.

However, it was postponed after the Saudi organisers didn't let players warm up in shirts bearing the image of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey.
