Feyenoord fans gave Arne Slot an elaborate send-off with a giant banner dedicated to him ahead of their dominant 4-0 triumph over Excelsior on Sunday.

Slot is taking charge of his final match at De Kuip against Excelsior ahead of his move to Liverpool.

The Dutchman this week confirmed that he will succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield after the Reds agreed a compensation package that could reach £9.42million with his Rotterdam employers.

Feyenoord released a sleek video in his honour and had him pose on the pitch with the accolades he has brought them.

Slot won the Eredivisie title last season, the KNVB Cup this year, and also led them to the 2022 Europa Conference League final, where they lost to Jose Mourinho's Roma.

Feyenoord have paid tribute to Arne Slot with a gigantic banner and video in his honour

Fans unveiled the huge tifo which pictures his face and has 'WALK ON' written on it

'Every beginning has an end. Every end has a beginning,' the video's narrator began.

'But the memories we made? They will last. Forever.

'From Drita to Tirana, from Rome to Madrid, from De Kuip to the Coolsingel [a street in central Rotterdam where Feyenoord celebrate trophies].

'We built up and chased down. We experienced thrilling final minutes and historic Klassiekers [derbies with Ajax].

'We stood strong in Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, at Europe's highest stage. We received compliments and won prizes.

'Now we're letting you go, Arne. With pride, we'll build on the foundation you laid. Thank you for everything.

'For winning both the league and the cup. Thanks for the football. For the memories. Walk on, coach, with us in your heart.'

The video ends with the sound of fans chanting 'You'll Never Walk Alone,' which Feyenoord have adopted alongside multiple other clubs around Europe.

'Now we're letting you go, Arne. With pride, we'll build on the foundation you laid. Thank you for everything,' the narrator says

Liverpool have not formally announced Slot's move but he revealed he would be replacing the German in the hotseat.

'I can confirm that I will become the trainer there next season,' he said at a press conference on Friday.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a work permit is still pending for his coaching staff and an official announcement from Liverpool will be made at a time of their choosing.

Slot's revelation comes just hours after Klopp, 56, held his final press conference as Liverpool boss, where he admitted the last week had 'been the most intense of my life'.

After Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso announced he would be staying in Germany, Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi and Sporting Lisbon's Ruben Amorim appeared to be the leading contenders, before talk turned to Feyenoord's Slot in earnest in April.
