Fikayo Tomori was unable to suppress a wry smile after hearing an AC Milan supporter direct an X-rated chant at Gareth Southgate.

The centre back was not selected in Southgate's 33-man provisional England squad ahead of Euro 2024 despite his eye-catching form in Serie A.

The group will be whittled down to 26 for the tournament but Tomori, along with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Ben Chilwell, was a surprise omission.

Tomori, who made his international debut in 2019, last appeared for the Three Lions in November 2023 and looks to have slipped down Southgate's pecking order.

While on a tour of Australia with Milan, Tomori was caught on camera listening to supporters venting their frustration and couldn't help but laugh.

Making their feelings known, they chanted: 'We love you Tomori, f*** Southgate.'

Tomori, 26, tried his best to remain professional while signing shirts but was spotted shaking his head comically and smiling as the chants increased in volume.

The centre back has just five England caps to his name to date.

Speaking last year, he admitted his frustration with his lack of international minutes.

'Most players will say once you come here, you want to stay here and when you get a taste for it, you want to you want to keep building on it,' Tomori said.

Southgate will whittle his squad down to 26 players ahead of the tournament in Germany

'My England career's been a bit stop-start.

'When I first got called up I made a few appearances off the bench and then after the COVID year, I wasn't playing as much so obviously, I wasn't getting called up.

'Then I went to Milan and I've been in a few camps, out a few camps.

'But this season started off really well and I've have managed to play a few games and I've come to every camp.'

England begin their Euro 2024 group campaign against Serbia on June 16.
