Comedian Ross Noble has accused easyJet staff of 'shrugging off' his fears after part of an emergency door panel fell on his head during a flight.

The Have I Got News For You star was sitting on one of the budget airline's jets when the hatch above his window seat toppled onto him.

Taking to X, the comic claimed the gaping hole was no laughing matter as it dripped water all over him for the rest of the trip.

And when the TV funny man approached airline staff about the hatch, he claimed they didn't apologise or show any concern about the 'terrifying' problem.

Stand-up star Ross, 48, said: 'Decided to fly @easyJet Great value. The emergency hatch falling on me was at no extra charge. Staff didn't waste time apologising or showing any concern they helpfully informed me the water dripping on me was just condensation. Great job.'

He shared his experience to his 789,000 followers on X and claimed staff 'didn't waste time apologising' for the situation

EasyJet were quick to reply, saying: 'Hi Ross. I am sorry to hear about your experience. I'll be happy to take a look at the booking.

'Kindly pop us DM with the booking reference number, the booker's full name and the email address used to make the booking? Regards, Ryan.'

Ross then responded: 'Not looking for compensation. Maybe ask staff to say sorry for the inconvenience it's all safe, rather than with shrug.

'It's just condensation dripping on you. don't lean on the door. Or pull lever. I am not a nervous flyer but that is potentially terrifying for someone who is.'

Another member of staff then sparked concerns the responses were from an AI bot by saying: 'I am truly sorry to read about your experience Ross. I am glad to know that the cabin crew were able to apologize for this and I hope your journey was a great one. Your patience is greatly appreciated. - Sivu.'

Ross then snapped back: 'Are you a chat bot ? You haven't read my message. They didn't!

'A thing fell on me and then water dripped out. When we have seen news of a plane door coming off maybe show some concern.

'Apologise even if you don't mean it. I know it's a budget business but manners cost nothing.'

Noble said the situation could have been potentially 'terrifying' for a nervous flyer

One of Ross' followers joked: 'easyBot. The extra condensation, FOC, helps calm and cool our customers when the airplane starts to fall apart around them.

'At this time staff are generally busy assisting more important customers or those who have paid for Speedy Emergency Departure.'

And another said: 'The easyJet customer services jumping from one narrative to another, it's like one of your stand up bits Ross.'

Ross didn't say where he was flying.

The missing hatch revealed a handle which said 'Pull Down.'

Ross' mid-air nightmare comes after major problems with planes in flight.

In January, an entire door blew off an Alaska Airlines plane at 16,000ft forcing it to return to Portland, Oregon, with 177 people onboard.

The door was later found in someone's back garden.

Responding to Ross' post, others said that although the issue didn't seem serious, the crew seemingly could have handled it better.

One said: 'As someone who works on the A320 the door handle cover is designed to come off very easily and the crew should've known it can be popped back on as easily as it came off.

'Condensation is also common on the ground/during takeoff but the crew should've done a better job here.'

An EasyJet spokesperson said: 'We are sorry for Mr Noble's experience onboard. The panel is for cosmetic purposes only and is designed for easy access in an emergency. Safety is our highest priority.'
