Robbie Gould announced his retirement on Thursday after 17 seasons in the NFL which saw him become the 10th highest points scorer in history.
The 40-year has amassed 1,961 points and 447 field goals during his time in the league, most notably with the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears.
'Although football has been a really great part of my life for the past 18 years, it is with the utmost regard and appreciation that I officially announce my retirement from the National Football League,' he wrote on the Players' Tribune.
