Liam Rosenior is in advanced talks to become head coach at Chelsea sister club Strasbourg.

The French side, who are a part of the BlueCo ownership group, are without a coach after Patrick Vieira stepped down from the role after just one season in charge.

And now they have turned their attention to Rosenior who has been without a job following his departure from Hull City in May.

Despite a seventh-placed finish in the Championship with the Yorkshire side, the 39-year-old was sacked by the Tigers three days after the end of the campaign.

Rosenior was nominated for the Championship Manager of the 2023-24 eason award but placed third behind Leeds United boss Daniel Farke and winner Kieran McKenna of Ipswich Town.

On Thursday, Strasbourg parted ways with Patrick Vieira after just one season together

The French side are part of BlueCo, the multi-club ownership model led by Todd Boehly

Before life as a coach, Rosenior enjoyed a 16-year playing career as a full-back, playing for the likes of Bristol City, Fulham, Hull, and Brighton and Hove Albion.

He decided to step away from the game while on the south coast in 2018 and transitioned straight into coaching within Brighton's academy.

In 2019, Rosenior joined the backroom staff at Derby County before working his way up to the managerial position on an interim basis in June 2022.

His time in the position was short-lived as he left in September of the same year, but only two months later he was appointed by Hull as head coach, on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

He departed two months ago after Hull finished just three points away from the play-off places in the second tier.

Strasbourg finished 13th in Ligue 1 in Vieira's only season in charge but two months later he departed in a similar fashion to that of Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.

The French club were acquired by BlueCo just last year joining Chelsea in the new multi-club ownership model.
