Friend of rap fan who was punched in the side of the head by Nardo Wick's 'entourage' says 'unprovoked' beating was so hard it was 'almost like he got tased'

A friend who was with a young rap fan when he was attacked by Nardo Wick's entourage has spoken out, saying the assault was completely unprovoked.

George Obregon Jr, 20, remains hospitalized in critical condition - with a severe concussion and brain bleeding - after he was brutally assaulted by the 21-year-old rapper's companions after a concert in Tampa, Florida.

Connor Villa, who attended the concert with Obregon, said the attack came out of nowhere, leaving him frozen at the sight of his friend being savagely beaten after he tried to ask the rapper for a picture.

'It just happened in the blink of an eye. They just kept hitting him.' Villa told Spectrum News.

'[Obregon] was barely standing [after the first punch]. And he was about to lean on the wall. It’s almost like he got tased, and he got hit three to four times after that.'

Villa noted that Obregon appeared like he got tased after the first punch, and then was hit several more times until he fell down

Horrific video of the attack shows Obregon walk towards Wick and his crew before he is sucker punched by one of the men, causing him to hit a brick wall. As the fan appears too shocked or hurt to move, another member of Wick's entourage punches him again several times - as Wick tells the man to 'chill.'

Villa said: 'Nardo Wick has been one of George’s favorite artists for a long time. He went and saw him in Miami at Rolling Loud for the past three years... for this to happen, it’s just - it’s so sad.

'I don’t know what possesses someone to hit someone like that or what threat they thought he was under, but there was no threat.'

Obregon's father George Obregon Sr previously told DailyMail.com his son 'loved' Wick, and even had his picture in his bedroom wall.

Wick took to Instagram Stories to respond to the allegations, claiming he had nothing to do with the assault of the fan, and that he has offered help Obregon's family

George Obregon Sr told DailyMail.com rapper Nardo Wick has refused to identify the two men who attacked his son George Jr in Tampa on Monday

Speaking in Spanish, the Cuba native said that Wick knows who his son's attackers were because they were in his group, but has declined to collaborate with authorities.

The heartbroken father added that George has shown signs of improvement, but remains in critical condition and is having memory issues. Obregon Sr said he could not provide too many details because the family has begun legal proceedings against the rapper.

Tampa police have released images of the two suspects as they asked the public for help locating them. Officials told DailyMail.com on Thursday they remain unidentified.

Meanwhile Mauricio Sulaimán, the president of the World Boxing Council, has joined calls for justice for the young fan.

Wick, on his part, took to Instagram stories earlier this week to respond to the allegations, claiming he had nothing to do with the assault of the fan, and that he has offered help to his family.

'I don't stand with the situation that happened, I was fully unaware of the situation that was about to take place. As soon as it happened I tried to deescalate the situation, and after the situation I got in contact with his mama, I told her I'd do anything to make it up to him as a fan' Wick said.

The young man's furious family have taken to social media to demand justice for Obregon. He is seen in the hospital

The rapper stated he is not trying to stop the family from suing, but genuinely concerned about him and his family.

'I ain't condone that. That wasn't gangster, that wasn't cool. I love all my fans, I welcome them with open arms. After the situation happened I was mad as hell. I contacted his family before anything was posted, I reached out to his mom to make it up to him as a fan. Nothing like that is ever gonna happen again, I'll make sure of that.
