A frustrated shopper is calling out Aussies for their 'horrendous' behaviour towards a young Costco worker serving pizza.

Tammie was visiting the Costco store located in the western Sydney suburb of Auburn on a weekend in September when she noticed customers behaving badly in the food court.

The Sydney recruiter and career coach said after finishing her shopping, she watched as customers treated the 'pizza guy like crap' while waiting for their food.

After finishing at the checkout, Costco customers often flock to the retailer's food court for a bite of the retailer's famous large pizzas - which cost customers $15.99 or $2.99 for a slice.

Tammie labelled the shoppers 'a holes' in a video shared to social media after watching them 'banging on the window' and yelling at the retail worker.

'You guys need to chill at Costco,' Tammie said. 'I understand that we're all happy to get pizza at the end.'

'That does not give you an excuse to treat the pizza guy like crap. I swear the way that this poor kid was being treated was horrendous.

'I saw people banging on the window and then pushing their receipts up to the window to see if their order had been yelled out yet.'

Tammie said the impatient shoppers ordered their food and then immediately went to the window urging the young worker to give them their pizza.

To make matters worse, Tammie explained the shoppers then blocked the pizza window by sitting in front of it, which made it impossible for others to hear if their order had been called out.

She added great value, did not excuse poor behaviour, and urged customers to 'calm down' and treat hospitality workers with kindness.

'Calm down! I know it's $16 for a massive pizza, and you can't get that anywhere in Sydney, but have a bit of manners, be a bit polite or go to a restaurant and eat pizza,' Tammie said.

'Be nice to hospitality workers, please!'

Other Costco shoppers agreed with Tammie, with many claiming customers are entitled and abuse hospitality staff.

'Yep, every time I'm there, the pizza staff are always being abused by someone. They aren't even being rude to the customers. It's not fair,' one person wrote.

'People get so irrationally angry for no reason at customer service workers. Like relax omg,' another person commented.

'Customers like this is why hospitality is struggling for staff, we are all leaving as we are sick of being abused all the time,' a third chimed.

One person argued the service was unacceptable after he was left waiting 30min for his pizza.

'Yeah.. when it gets busy, I've waited up to nearly 30min for my pizza. The whole time left me guessing,' he wrote.

However, Tammie fired back: 'Maccas is up the road if you need something quick and easy.'

A second person replied: 'If you can't wait then go somewhere else, bunch of sooks', while another suggested 'make your own then'.
