The Rest Is Football podcast has become hugely popular amongst football fans, with Gary Lineker, Micah Richards and Alan Shearer providing some fascinating insights.

However, the recording of the latest edition of the podcast didn't go entirely to plan.

Lineker and Richards were attempting to record the podcast but found themselves interrupted by none other than Thomas Frank and David Moyes.

Brentford boss Frank and ex-West Ham manager Moyes are part of the BBC's punditry team for Euro 2024 and they couldn't resist interrupting the recording.

On one occasion, Moyes remarked that his wine glass was empty and asked for a refill, while he later stated 'there's slow service in here'.

Frank added: 'You should record here', and said: 'It's much more fun now.'

The Dane also said 'We're listening to all your 'b******', which didn't especially please Richards.

During the BBC's coverage of England's 1-1 draw with Denmark, Lineker stated that manager Gareth Southgate should demand more from Harry Kane.

Although managed to get on the scoresheet, he endured a frustrating time overall as he didn't see much of the ball, which was also the case during England's 1-0 win against Serbia in their opening game.

Speaking on BBC Sport, Lineker said: 'As a striker you have two jobs, score goals, which Harry Kane has been good at all his career, and make space. He needs his manager to come to him and ask a little bit more of him. I would have expected that if I'd put in that kind of performance.

'Against a back three he has to stretch the play, run one way and then come short so you don't have to come too far to receive it. He needs to make more space for the midfield players behind him to create chances.'

Lineker claimed that Kane 'needs to do a lot better' with regards to his all-round game.

'In all honesty Harry Kane needs to do a lot better. His movement was minimal. He didn't look to go behind and he doesn't often, but even when he comes short he's drifting short very lethargically, he's plodding short and that's not going to help.'
