Gary Neville has slammed Raphael Varane for being 'found out' at Manchester United.
Varane arrived at the club last year with high hopes having won four Champions League titles and a World Cup during his time with Real Madrid and France.
But he has underwhelmed during his time at Old Trafford, and has been in and out of the team under Erik ten Hag, with the likes of Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans often preferred to the 30-year-old.
He is expected to line up in defence when the Red Devils take on Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday, and United fans will hope he can put in a solid performance with a patched-up line-up expected at the back.
Speaking before the game on Sky Sports, former United man Neville criticised Varane, admitting that he's not played the role many were expecting upon his arrival at the club.

Neville (pictured) suggested Varane is 'not a dominant centre back' and that he hasn't shown leadership while at the Red Devils
'He has gone under the radar,' Neville said. 'For his career, and he’s not the only one, I agree someone like him with the big matches and tournaments that you’d expect a lot, lot more.
'Something has happened, there's been a fall out, it doesn’t give me confidence.
'With defenders you look at if they are they a first or second centre back. He’s second, he likes the other to be dominant and he had that at Real Madrid.
'I think he’s been found out a bit. He’s not the dominant leader type you talk about.'
Neville referenced a potential fall out between Varane and Ten Hag, which has seen the defender relegated to the bench in a number of recent games.
He was recalled to the first team for the first time in seven weeks as United limped to a 1-0 defeat in the Champions League as they were knocked out of the competition on Tuesday, finishing bottom of their group.

Neville, meanwhile, has warned United of another hammering at the hands of Liverpool if Ten Hag refuses to change his approach.
'In these big games away from home, he's continued to play that same type of football,' he said. 'I think that for today, he sends them out in the same style, same way of playing the man to man marking open in midfield. They'll get killed.
'I think he's got a big responsibility to put them out there today in the shape that gives them a chance.'
