A body has been discovered floating in a river on the Sunshine Coast.
Police said a member of the public called in at about 8.30am on Thursday to report what they believed to be a body floating in the Maroochy River under a bridge, believed to be the Sunshine Mwy Bridge, in Maroochydore.
Paramedics were called to the scene near Bradman Avenue but left a short time later.
Firefighters assisted police to retrieve the body and bring it to shore.

Detectives remain at the scene and have yet to identify the body.
Earlier this week, fisherman Matthew Balange, 43, went missing off the coast at nearby Mooloolaba and his body has not yet been found.
Mr Balange’s boat was discovered off Cape Moreton on Monday with the engine still running.
Coast Guards believe he may have fallen into the water while trying to reel in a fish and the boat had continued on without him.
The search was on Thursday called off.
More to come.
