Harry Kane hilariously rejected the chance to join a seventh-tier German team that presented him with a contract boasting the benefits of unlimited bratwurst and 'free drinks in every bar' during his England press conference.

The Three Lions captain was asked by a comedian during his pre-match press conference ahead of facing Romania whether he would be interested in joining the team that is local to England's training camp in Germany.

England are staying at the stunning Spa & GolfResort Weimarer Land during their participation in the tournament and nearby seventh division side SG Lauscha/Neuhaus want Kane to sign a contract with them.

He is currently tied to Bayern Munich after completing a move from Tottenham last year and was asked about whether he would be interested in remaining in Germany after his contract expires in 2027.

Local comedian Jonas Greiner, representing broadcaster MDR Jump began his bizarre questioning of Kane by commenting on the local area before producing a mock contract and shirt for him.

The contract - that asks Kane to report for training on July 1 0 boasts benefits of free German food and drink, while also promising he would be available for all England call-ups.

Making the hilarious offer to Kane, Greiner said: 'Could you imagine to live here one day? Do you want to stay? We have a seventh division team you may have heard of, SG Lauscha/Neuhaus,' he said as he brought out a contract to laughter in the press room.

'They have a contract offer for you. You get free Thuringia rostbratwurst all you can eat, free drinks in every bar, and mindestlohn (minimum wage).

'You will have much more time for the national team. If you want, I have your jersey here.'

Kane would have been well within his rights to reject the comedic approach made to him in a room surrounded by the world media, but instead saw the humour in the situation and jested that he is open to finding out more.

''It's [the contract] very well prepared. I'll have to talk to my agent and see what we can do! But you have good golf courses. I mean the golf course we're staying on is fantastic so, yeah, it's not a bad plus,' he said.

'It's been great. You know the reception I've had not just here but in the whole of Germany has been incredible. I think since I moved to Bayern Munich I've added a lot of supporters to me.

'Every hotel we've been to so far and just around the stadium and everything, the support has been amazing, so I just want to say thank you for that.
