A Queensland NRL and State of Origin star described as 'high-profile' has been accused of rape, according to reports.
9News Queensland reports that the allegations were made to police, with officers attending the player's residence as investigations began.
A woman then made a formal complaint to the police about the player, who is currently contracted to a Queensland NRL club.
'The Queensland Police Service is investigating a sexual assault complaint relating to an incident on the Gold Coast on Tuesday May 14 2024. Investigations into this matter are ongoing,' Queensland police said in a statement on Thursday morning.
The latest bombshell comes ahead of the NRL's Magic Round extravaganza in Brisbane, which will see all fixtures played in the city.
