House Republican warns 'only a matter of time' before DEVASTATING terror attack unless Biden admin tackles border crisis after arrest of six men with ISIS ties

A GOP Congressman is warning that a 'devastating' terror attack is likely to occur unless the Biden administration tackles the migrant crisis.

Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green slammed the president for allowing people with 'terrorist ties' and 'major criminal connections' to 'roam free' across the country.

He argued that 'bad actors exploiting our borders' has become the 'rule' under Biden and warned that it is 'only a matter of time' before a terrorist attacks on US soil.

His criticisms come after six Russian nationals with potential ties to ISIS were arrested in New York, Philadelphia and Los Angeles last week in a coordinated sting by law enforcement.

Anonymous ICE officials told the New York Post that a wiretap revealed one of the suspects had been talking about bombs, prompting concern that a horrific attack like 9/11 or the Boston Marathon bombing could occur again.

Two ICE officials have said they arrested the suspected terrorist affiliates last week after the FBI raised the alarm.

The suspects are originally from Tajikistan, and they also have Russian citizenship, according to the Post.

'Almost weekly we are getting reports that someone with terrorist ties or other major criminal connections has been released into our country and allowed to roam free for months or even years,' Green told DailyMail.com, responding to the arrests.

'Such bad actors exploiting our borders used to be the exception—it's quickly becoming the rule under President Biden and now-impeached Secretary Mayorkas.

'It's only a matter of time before one of these individuals connected to a terrorist group is involved in something devastating on US soil, and this administration will be responsible. How much longer will we let this madness continue?'

The eight arrestees had entered the US through the southern border last spring and passed through the government's screening process without turning up information that would have identified them as potential terrorism-related concerns.

They are being held on immigration violations and are in the custody of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which made the arrests while working with the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF), pending proceedings to remove them from the country.

An ICE official familiar with the sting told The Post the one of the suspects had been talking about bombs, adding: 'Remember the Boston marathon [bombing]? I'm afraid something like that might happen again or worse.'

The suspect in question has been involved with law enforcement before and had a court date next year, according to the source.

It comes as top law enforcement officials warned the threat of a terrorist attack in the US has risen 'enormously' over the past few months.

Attorney General Merrick Garland made the astonishing admission while testifying before the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday last week during a hearing dedicated to investigating the department's politicization

'I am worried about the possibility of a terrorist attack in the country after October 7,' Attorney General Garland said. 'The threat level for us has gone up enormously.'

'Every morning, we worry about this question. We try to track anyone who might be trying to hurt the country,' he continued. 'Of course, this is a major priority for the Justice Department.'

FBI Director Christopher Wray, speaking to a different committee on the other side of Capitol Hill in the Senate, agreed, saying 'we have seen the threat from foreign terrorists rise to a whole other level' after the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack.

'We have seen a rouges' gallery of foreign terrorist organizations call for attacks against Americans and our allies,' Wray said.

'Just in the time I have been FBI director we have disrupted multiple terror attacks around U.S. cities.'

'I would be hard pressed to think of a time when so many different threats to our public safety and national security were so elevated all at the same time.'

Wray said threats against Jewish Americans has been particularly acute.

'We've seen an elevated threat to the Jewish community in the United States.'

Though he said Jewish communities were targeted before the October 7 attack, since then the threats 'went up dramatically.'

'Religiously motivated hate crimes, close to 60 percent of them, are targeted at the Jewish community,' Wray testified, noting how the community only makes up two percent of the U.S. population.

'Increasingly concerning is the potential for a coordinated attack here in the homeland, not unlike an attack we saw in the Russia theater,' he added, referring to the Crocus City Hall concert shooting in March.

One vector for threats to enter the country is through the U.S.-Mexico border, according to the FBI chief.
