The two Newcastle Knights stars at the centre of an awkward TV moment have seemingly patched things up.

Newcastle footy star Bradman Best was embarrassed on live television over the weekend after a cringeworthy exchange with NRLW star Millie Boyle - the wife of his teammate, Adam Elliott.

The 22-year-old Knights centre was being questioned by Boyle - who also works for Channel Nine - after the 30-10 victory over the Dragons when events took a cringeworthy turn.

As their chat ended, Boyle said, 'Thank you very much, Braddy,' and tapped him on the shoulder.

Best reacted by trying to grab Boyle by the waist and moving in to kiss her on the cheek, only for her to back off slightly and tell him, 'Go and put a shirt on and, um... we'll chat to someone else. Congrats on the win.'

Fans predicted that the incredibly awkward exchange could lead to some interesting conversations in the Knights locker room.

But judging by Elliott and Best's respective Instagram accounts, there is no friction following the awkward encounter.

The pair both posted identical shots from the beach at roughly the same time on Tuesday, indicating they had gone together. Best's dog was in his shot uploaded to the social media platform.

Moments before the awkward moment, Boyle had greeted Best with a kiss on the cheek and asked him about the shocking weather the match was played in, with heavy rain leaving the playing surface more like a swimming pool than a footy ground.

'Have you ever played in conditions like that?' she asked.

Best replied: 'I was just saying to the boys I don't think I've ever played in that sort of weather. It was torrential, but glad we got the points.'

Boyle and Elliott became the NRL's ultimate power couple when they were married in October last year.

Their romance got off to a rocky start when they were kicked out of a Gold Coast restaurant in August 2021 for kissing in the men's toilets, with the incident resulting in Elliott losing his contract with the Bulldogs

The embarrassing moment led to speculation that it could be an awkward locker room

The pair - who were childhood friends as they grew up on the NSW south coast - confirmed they were a couple in October that year.

Their relationship went long-distance for a time as Elliott played for Canberra and Boyle played for Newcastle.

There were heartwarming scenes when the Knights took out the NRLW grand final in 2022 and Elliott cried tears of pride in the stands as she made a speech to fans after the win.

Elliott got down on one knee during a romantic beachside proposal in October 2022, using a stunning ring that once belonged to his great grandmother.

'Cannot wait to marry the absolute love of my life,' a clearly ecstatic Boyle posted on her social media account after the proposal.

Elliott, 29, is no stranger to off-field controversy, and firmly believes his relationship with the Roosters prop has provided the life balance he craved.

'Millie's the biggest influence over my personal happiness right now. How much she's bought into my family, and helping to raise my little boy [from a previous relationship], it means the world to me,' Elliott said.

'I probably don't give her enough credit, she's a very special person ... trying to explain everything she does for me, it gets me a bit emotional.'
