Caitlin Clark's hopes of making the Team USA roster for the 2024 Olympics are still alive - despite her failure to make the 12-woman list.
The Fever superstar was controversially left out of the squad for this summer's games in Paris - despite being the biggest name in women's basketball.
But, according to The Athletic, Clark is atop the alternates list for Team USA, alongside Brionna Jones of the Connecticut Sun, making her first in line should a replacement be required.
Clark missed the team's training camp back in April because she had led the Iowa Hawkeyes to the NCAA final.
The United States have won gold in women's basketball at every Olympics since 1996.
