Ingrid Andress' disastrous performance of the national anthem Monday has sent online conspiracy theorists wild.

The country music artist delivered what has since been branded as 'the worst national anthem ever,' before Monday's MLB Home Run Derby.

Andress has since admitted that she was drunk during her performance and that she is checking herself into a facility, apologizing to MLB and fans in a statement released Tuesday afternoon.

However, before her confession, the shrill and off-key rendition of Francis Scott Key's lyrics not only sparked an onslaught of criticism but also a storm of interesting conspiracies.

Many social media users theorized that there may have been an ulterior motive behind the Grammy-nominated singer's pitchy performance.

Ingrid Andress' disastrous performance of the national anthem sparked a wild conspiracy

Several users claimed that Andress' Star Spangled catastrophe was a publicity stunt to promote her own music.

'Ingrid Andress 1000% did that on purpose so people google her and check out her music to see if it's as bad as that anthem,' one user posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. 'Real genius next level stuff.'

'Maybe Ingrid Andress purposely sang the National Anthem terribly, so people look her music up to see what she actually sings. And then they get hooked on it,' another wrote, sharing a similar theory.

'Seeing all the attention Ingrid Andress is getting for butchering the US national anthem, I’m beginning to think she sang offkey on purpose,' one person chimed in. 'Most people (me included) had never heard of her before. Now everyone on this app knows who she is.'

One user hailed the supposed plan as 'brilliant' as they echoed others' conspiracy theories.

'I don't know what an Ingrid Andress is but her anthem performance was most definitely on purpose,' the said. 'Now everyone knows her name and she's getting clicks like crazy. Brilliant.'

Another added: 'Ingrid Andress is actually not a bad singer at all, I’ve seen her live multiple times…which makes me think what happened here was simply a terrible creative choice…something obviously not right….'

Many social media users claimed Andress' Star Spangled catastrophe was a publicity stunt

Some claimed she purposefully delivered a pitchy performance to promote her own music

However, some weren't so impressed with the alleged stunt, claiming such treatment of the national anthem was 'disgusting.'

'@IngridAndress if you didn’t plan to perform the #Anthem with humility and care, it would have been best to give someone else the opportunity,' the began.

'The only conclusion a reasonable person could make is that your hack performance was deliberate and premeditated.'

But others weren't so convinced, questioning why Andress would take such a decision at the risk of ruining her career.

Instead of achieving the alleged desired outcome, many believe the artist has tanked her singing career.

'Ingrid Andress actually can sing confirmed I just listen to a few of her songs but holy s*** that anthem she sang last night might actually call it wraps on her career,' one user posted.

'How terrible for Ingrid Andress to ruin her career like that, especially considering no one knew who she was before today,' another agreed.

'Ingrid Andress has ruined her career,' and, 'I think Ingrid Andress just ruined her career,' were among the other reactions to the incident.
