The 14-year-old, who faces mobility issues and uses a special wheelchair, is a PAOK supporter but has developed a special bond with Olympiakos and Marinakis in recent weeks.
After Olympiakos' match with PAOK on May 12 young Giannis asked Konstantis Tzolakis for a photo to which the goalkeeper obliged.
After the meeting, Marinakis personally invited Giannis to Wednesday night’s final and the youngster was allowed entry onto the pitch, accompanied by his father, and participated in the victory lap with the Olympiacos players.
In addressing supporters after the victory, Marinakis said: ‘Today a crazy dream has become a reality for our Olympiakos, for Piraeus, for Greece.
‘We are particularly happy and proud for the people of Olympiakos. In our 99-year history the people of Olympiakos have dreamt of a European trophy.’
