The man accused of stalking NRL sporting legend Andrew Johns can be revealed as a diehard Sydney Roosters mega fan.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal Blake Moses, of no fixed address, is the alleged stalker who is accused of obsessively pursuing the former Newcastle Knights halfback over the Easter long weekend.

Moses, 27, who grew up in Vaucluse in Sydney’s exclusive eastern suburbs, is understood to be a devoted Roosters fan and laps up opportunities to get a photo with his sporting idols.

In 2020, he shared a photo on social media of himself alongside Roosters star player Joey Manu, captioning the image: ‘Spotted a chook in Byron.’

Another photo shared to his social media in 2018 shows Moses alongside former NRL players Chris Walker and Willie Mason.

Police have applied for an AVO to protect footy legend Andrew Johns, 49

Moses, a keen surfer, graduated from Rose Bay Secondary College in 2015 and is known to frequent Bondi and Bronte beaches.

Johns, 49, is alleged to have first encountered Moses on March 29 during a surfing session in Bronte where he is alleged to have followed the footy legend into the water and stared at him.

After returning home, Johns allegedly spotted the same man pacing the footpath outside his property.

The following day, Moses allegedly approached Johns at a local cafe and again stared at him for a long period of time.

Johns then called police and Moses was arrested on March 31 and charged with one count of stalking.

Johns carried out his regular TV duties with Channel 9 on Easter Sunday, March 31.

Moses appeared before Parramatta Local Court on April 1 and was granted bail.

However, when officers checked the Bondi address Moses gave police as part of his bail conditions, they allegedly discovered the residence does not exist.

Police found Moses the next morning at 9:50am and arrested him for breaching his bail conditions.

A magistrate at Waverley Local Court remanded Moses in custody. He is due to undergo a mental health assessment.

Police have also applied for an apprehended personal violence order to protect former Newcastle Knights star Johns.

Moses is due to face court on Thursday in relation to the AVO.

Johns, a rugby league immortal, is one of the sport's most popular commentators and enjoyed immense success at international, club and State of Origin level.
