Inside Tom Pidcock's life away from the Olympics: from girlfriend Bethany Louise to running a social media account for his two adorable dachshunds

Team GB's Tom Pidcock defied the odds and claimed gold in the men's mountain bike event despite suffering a puncture.

The 24-year-old astonishingly fought back to retain his Olympic crown after a puncture left him 36 seconds behind Frenchman Victor Koretzky in the leader's spot at the halfway point in the race.

Pidcock who hails from Yorkshire, began riding at just three-years-old, so it is no surprise the young cyclist already has two gold medals under his belt.

He took part in his first official race aged seven, and made history at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics when he won Great Britain's first ever mountain biking medal.

Even more impressively so, it was a gold and it came just weeks after he had recovered from a fractured collarbone. So what do we know about his life away from the sport. Here is everything we know.

The Yorkshireman was born in Leeds, however it is unclear whether or not the two-time Olympic gold medallist still resides there. 

What is known about his private life however is that he is in a loving relationship with Bethany Louise Zajac.

Bethany is a project manager and interior designer. 

The loving couple share two dogs together, two long-haired dachshund's named Chestnut and Acorn.

The two adorable dogs even have their own Instagram, where the couple share updates on their pooch adventures.

Which includes everything from supporting Tom when he was taking part in the Tour de France to family days out. 

The couple are believed to be together for over five years now, having celebrated their anniversary back in April.

Due to Tom's job and lifestyle its not surprise that the couple are often seen jet-setting around the world, with Bethany hinting that the couples two home bases are in Yorkshire and Andorra. 

The project manager often takes to her social media to share updates and supportive messages for her cyclist boyfriend at the various events she attends to support him. 

Bethany often shares their travel getaways on her Instagram from going on adventures with their two dogs to ski trips in Andorra to exploring the stunning landscape of Switzerland.

The pair also share a love for cycling, with Bethany often sharing images to her Instagram of her on her bike and exploring the various countrysides of the many countries she travels to.
