The greatest women's college basketball player of her generation will now get to face the school she always wanted to go to, but never took serious interest in her.

Iowa star Caitlin Clark earned a berth in the Final Four in Cleveland after knocking off LSU on Monday night.

There, she'll face off against three-seed UConn in a fight for the right to head to the national championship game.

It could be some revenge for Clark - who told ESPN's Wright Thompson about how she had always wanted to play under coach Geno Auriemma in the rural farm town of Storrs.

'Honestly, it was more I wanted them to recruit me to say I got recruited,' Clark revealed 'I loved UConn.

Caitlin Clark now has the chance to get revenge on the team that spurned her in recruiting

Clark said she always wanted to go to UConn and play in Storrs under Geno Auriemma

Auriemma may not have gone after her because UConn already had top recruit Paige Bueckers

'I think they're the coolest place on Earth, and I wanted to say I got recruited by them.

'They called my AAU coach a few times, but they never talked to my family and never talked to me.'

Despite significant interest from other powerhouse schools, Auriemma never showed up to one of Caitlin's practices.

That could possibly be because UConn was already going after the top recruit in that class who played in the same position as Clark: Paige Bueckers.

Eventually, Clark narrowed her choices down to Iowa and Notre Dame - initially committing to the Fighting Irish and coach Muffet McGraw.

But she changed her mind and switched her commitment to Iowa and the rest is history.

Now, Clark has the chance to shock the team that spurned her in her hopes of reaching a second national championship game in her career.
