A surprise face among the camp was England Test captain Ben Stokes. He greeted several players, including Grealish and Aston Villa striker Olly Watkins.
Southgate is blessed with options in attacking areas with Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, Eberechi Eze and Anthony Gordon among those battling for a spot in Southgate’s final party.
Grealish’s experience may count in his favour and his decision to report early is likely to be well received by Southgate.
