Timberwolves star Jaden McDaniels says his on-court bust-up with Klay Thompson was a 'bigger deal' to the Warriors shooting guard after they were both ejected from Tuesday's game in San Francisco for fighting.
Before Minnesota claimed a 104-101 victory over Golden State, McDaniels and Thompson pushed and shoved one another as a fiery brawl broke out at Chase Center.
Warriors power forward Draymond Green was seen putting 7ft 1in Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert in a headlock, which has brought him a five-game suspension from the NBA.
As well as Gobert, McDaniels and Thompson have received $25,000 fines for their part in the melee.
But speaking after Tuesday's ill-tempered encounter, McDaniels admitted his fallout with Thompson was initially not a serious one from his standpoint.

'There was some chitter chatter going back and forth, but I wasn't taking it serious,' he said. 'I was laughing. And then I guess it was a bigger deal to him.
'He missed a shot, we ran on the court. We probably said something back to each other and to me it wasn't that serious - I was laughing and joking around.
'Some people take things differently.'
When asked if he had any history with the Golden State forward, McDaniels said: 'No, I don't know bruh at all. I just know he's Klay Thompson.'
Not even two minutes into Tuesday night's game, Thompson and McDaniels became tangled up at half court before putting hands on each other to start the altercation.
Green then came flying in from several feet away and immediately put Gobert in a headlock before teammates intervened. All four players at the heart of the melee were ejected from the game in San Francisco.
On Wednesday, the NBA confirmed that Green has been handed a five-game ban for his involvement in it.
Draymond Green was also ejected for putting Rudy Gobert in a headlock as the Timberwolves faced the Warriors
The league said in a statement: 'Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been suspended five games without pay for escalating an on-court altercation and forcibly grabbing Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert around the neck in an unsportsmanlike and dangerous manner, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, NBA Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations.
'The length of the suspension is based in part on Green's history of unsportsmanlike acts.'
McDaniels continued: 'I was kind of surprised. I didn't know Draymond was gonna do all that. That was kind of surprising for me.
'But other than that, it was just a little altercation.'
