Jamie Carragher has hit back at Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney's 'nonsense' claim that Harry Kane is England's greatest-ever player.
Kane scored the first goal of England's 2-1 Euro 2024 semi-final win over the Netherlands on Wednesday evening as they came from behind to win the final four clash.
The Bayern Munich striker has starred in the Bundesliga since moving to Germany last summer, scoring 36 goals in 32 league appearances during his debut season, and similarly impressing with England.
Kane is the joint-top scorer at the ongoing European Championship with three goals and can win the golden boot award when England take on Spain in Berlin on Sunday evening.
However, the 30-year-old has failed to make his usual impact on opposition defences at the tournament and some believe the England captain could be struggling with fatigue and injury.

Jamie Carragher has hit back at claims Kane is England's greatest player on social media
Kane is England's record goalscorer with 66 strikes for the national team and was labelled as the country's best-ever striker by Rooney prior to Euro 2024 getting underway.
Rooney told the Overlap previously: 'I think he is incredible. I think the goals he has scored. The assists he has added over the last few years as well. For me, I would say he is England's greatest-ever player.
'I believe that. You were talking about Jude before with his work rate, with Harry there is never an issue. He is the ultimate professional. He never misses a game,' he added.
Neville was initially stunned at the time but agreed with his former Man United team-mate's assessment when analysing England's run to the Euro 2024 final.

Kane hasn't been at his usual best for England at Euro 2024 but is still the tournament's joint-top goalscorer
'That is massive praise from someone who has been around the block Wayne Rooney. I wouldnt disagree with him either, I think Harry Kane has been absolutely sensational,' he told Sky Sports.
'You just know full well he is going to deliver for you. I think he is below his best at this tournament, it does look like he is carrying something. But you look at that record now and who he is up there with some of the great strikers of all time.'
Liverpool icon Carragher has now hit out at his fellow pundits, posting in response to Neville's agreement on Instagram: ' I love Harry Kane but that's absolute nonsense from the two of you!!'.
Kane would go someway to dispelling Carragher's comments if he guides England to the European Championship title as the Three Lions look to avenge their previous final defeat three-years ago.
