Joao Cancelo has revealed that his family have been sent 'death wishes' after Barcelona were knocked out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night.
PSG overturned a 3-2 defeat in the first-leg to secure a dramatic 6-4 victory against Barcelona at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium, with Luis Enrique's side going on to secure a berth in the semi-finals, where they'll take on Borussia Dortmund.
Cancelo, who is on loan from Manchester City, played 82 minutes of the match and was involved in a controversial incident just on the hour mark, where he conceded a penalty for lunging in on ex-Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.
Kylian Mbappe subsequently scored the spot kick to put Paris a goal ahead on aggregate, before the Frenchman returned to compound Barcelona's woes further, scoring a second goal less than ten minutes later.
In an interview with ESPN, the Portuguese full-back, who has been criticised for giving away the penalty, admitted that the messages had been made to his family and his unborn baby on social media.

Cancelo claimed that he could not sleep after the match and hit out at the messages
'There are comments on Instagram wishing death upon my daughter who's not even been born yet,' he said to ESPN.
'They would not say it to me face, because we would have a problem, but in the comments, they write what they want.
'Wishing death upon a baby is really serious. People don't think about the person behind the footballer they see on the television. We are humans, too. We are just the same.'
Cancelo admitted that it had been a tough week following the result and that he had also struggled to sleep, with Barcelona also suffering their first defeat in 10 games.
The hosts had got off to a fast start in the match, with Raphinha giving the Catalan club an early lead. Despite that, the Blaugrana went down to 10 men in the first 12 minutes of the game after Ronald Araujo was sent off for a tackle on Bradley Barcola. PSG would capitalise on the mismatch in numbers with Dembele pulling them level at 1-1. Vitinha would produce a thumping low shot to pull the Parisians ahead at 2-1.
Things soon went from bad to worse for Barcelona, with Xavi being sent off after remonstrating with the match officials, before Cancelo conceded the penalty.
The 29-year-old was subsequently criticised for the challenge by former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand on TNT Sport's live coverage of the game, with the ex-man united star calling the tackle 'silly'.
Cancelo has, meanwhile, taken the ex-England star's criticisms on board.
'Ferdinand was a great player, but I am sure he made mistakes as well. We all do. But of course, it's his job, he's an analyst and he has the right to say what he thinks,' he told ESPN.

Cancelo said that he 'accepted' Ferdinand's criticism but added 'we all make mistakes'
'I accept it, it's his opinion. Maybe the way I gave the penalty away was a childish [mistake], but with how the game was, my head at the moment, well, I accept the criticism.'
Ferdinand claimed the challenge was: 'Just a rush of blood.' He added: 'That's just so naive and it's like an inexperienced young player's tackle who's in a panic stations mode. He had the situation so under control, there's no need. You've got to know where you are on the pitch.
'I always think about defenders, stand your feet for as long as you can, especially in your own 18-yard box, and he gets rightly punished I think.'
Cancelo admitted during the interview with ESPN that he wanted to move on from this week and respond by claiming victory against their fierce rivals Real Madrid on Sunday at the Bernabeu.
