During the celebrations for the Kansas City Chiefs at The White House, President Biden also took time to commemorate how the team helped others during the tragic mass shooting at their Super Bowl parade.

One woman died and 22 people were injured in the shooting that sent people running away from the city's Union Station just moments after the celebrations came to an end.

Biden commemorated the life of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was killed in the shooting, while also honoring the Chiefs for their actions to help others.

'We saw pride, give away to tragedy,' Biden said Friday. 'A beloved mom, local DJ was gunned down. Dozens were injured.

'Among the chaos, this team stepped up again.'

While honoring the Kansas City Chiefs, President Biden praised them for their actions during the tragic shooting at their Super Bowl parade that left one dead and 22 others injured

All of the Kansas City Chiefs - including Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce - attended the event

'Trey [Smith] helped pull people to safety,' Biden continued. 'James, who lost his own father to gun violence and assured kids they would be OK.

'One teen remembers Coach Reid giving him a hug, telling him "just breathe, just breathe."

'One boy was separated from his dad, Clyde helped keep him from harm. Clyde is exceptional. This team is exceptional.'

While it wasn't mentioned during Biden's speech, the team did more than just help people while the shooting was going on - they helped afterwards as well.

Star tight end Travis Kelce donated $100,000 to two children injured in the shooting while his quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, donated $50,000 to the local United Way fund.

Even Harrison Butker, the team's kicker who's been in headlines for a controversial speech he gave, donated a jersey to Lopez-Galvan's family so that she could wear it at the funeral

Two adults and two juveniles have been charged in connection with the shooting. The adults have been charged with murder.
