Jurgen Klopp has posed for team photos at Liverpool for the last time and sent a heartfelt farewell message to supporters ahead of his final game in charge on Sunday.

The German surprised the footballing world midway through Liverpool's campaign by announcing his shock decision to leave the club after nine years in charge at the end of the season.

Seven major honours - including a first Premier League title - were claimed by Klopp during his illustrious Anfield career with his status cemented as a club legend alongside Bill Shankly.

Full focus has been on the clock ticking down to Klopp's final day in charge after Liverpool crashed out of the Premier League title race in May, with exit formalities almost wrapped up prior to the weekend hosting of Wolves.

One of the final jobs on Klopp's exhausted to-do list was to pose for a picture with all of the club's staff and was called to Anfield for a photo shoot celebrating his Liverpool career.

Klopp was met by thousands of Liverpool staff who had gathered alongside the seven major titles he has at the club

A video posted by the club shows a casually-dressed Reds manager rushing down the tunnel to find the main stands had been packed out with applauding staff wishing to say goodbye to the 56-year-old.

He then approcacheds the stand where all of his seven major trophy achievements have been laid out in a staggered formation midway up the steps in the ground.

Klopp appears taken aback by the occasion before taking his place at the top of the trophy path with the Champions League and Premier League title nearest to him.

He then poses for a collective group photo for what will be one of Klopp's final times at the club's iconic home crowd prior to taking to the dugout for the last time.

A heartfelt message to Liverpool fans later followed as the Premier League released a pre-recorded statement from Klopp to those who have supported him during his time at the club.

He opened his greeting by stating: 'Can you create in football stories which definitely nobody will ever forget?

'I knew I loved the club before I signed the contract. It's the biggest honour I can ever imagine.

Another part of the message stated: 'This is Kenny's [Dalglish] club, the club of Steven Gerrard, Shankly, the Scousers are very open and very warm.

The only reason I am able to do the job I do is because the people show so much passion. The involvement of all people is brilliant and the emotions we can create in the stadium are the emotions that are only people in this city.

These are the moments we will never forget and that is what life is, collecting as many of these moments as possible. It is for you and an honour to do it for you. What a club and you made this club.
